“Join Justin and I as we discuss the last time we talked, which was literally the day before the pandemic really went into full swing and touring and most of the world went on pause for 2 years.

How in that time Justin went within and decided to work on some songs that he had sitting on a hard drive and would wind up becoming Lybica with some close friends and how it was to find his "voice" with a new instrument, and what it was like playing the first few shows being up front on stage versus being tucked in back with KSE.

We also touch on Jasta talking about a reunited Blood Has Been Shed for his recently acquired Milwaukee Metal Fest, playing last years Furnace Fest and older bands reuniting and more.”

“Inspiration strikes anywhere, but ideas are only as good as execution. So when Killswitch Engage drummer Justin Foley announced he was picking up a guitar, and forming a new instrumental band, Lybica, we were intrigued by what sparked the idea. Luckily, all we had to do was ask.

“I’m thrilled to announce that our debut record will be out September 16 on freaking Metal Blade,” says Foley. “It’s fitting to share ‘Manifest’ today, as well, since it was the first song Doug [French, bass], Joey [Johnson, guitar], and I played together a few years back. Now that [drummer] Chris [Lane] has completed the band, it’s time for some shows.“

LYBICA took the stage first with their very technical and transformative style. Usually, I am photographing and can’t always enjoy the music as I set up shots. Videotaping allowed me to really listen and enjoy the trip their music takes you on. Their music has bite but is interweaved with hypnotic riffs and together transforms you to another place.
